June 23 is TogetherTuesday, a national day of community action created by the founders of GivingTuesday. While GivingTuesday focuses on charitable giving, TogetherTuesday celebrates something equally important: the everyday acts of kindness, connection, and generosity that help communities thrive.
At Shell Point, we see these moments every day.
A neighbor checking in on a friend. An invitation to share a meal. A note of encouragement. A helping hand offered without being asked. These simple gestures may seem small, but they create something powerful — a sense of belonging.
Recently, community leaders from across Southwest Florida gathered at the inaugural FGCU Kindness Summit to explore how kindness and connection impact individual wellbeing and community health. One message resonated throughout the event: people flourish when they feel seen, valued, and connected to others.
Research continues to show that meaningful social connections contribute to emotional wellbeing, a stronger sense of purpose, and even better health outcomes as we age. In many ways, belonging is not simply a social benefit — it is an important part of living well.
That’s one of the things that makes Shell Point special. Beyond the beautiful campus and outstanding amenities, our greatest strength is the people who make this community a place where neighbors become friends and where caring for one another is part of daily life.
As we celebrate TogetherTuesday, we invite you to reflect on the small acts of kindness that have made a difference in your own life — and perhaps consider one small act you can offer someone else today.
Because strong communities aren’t built through extraordinary moments alone. They are built through regular people choosing, day after day, to care for one another.
